“Remember” by Emily Garroway

Emily Garroway (age 13)

REMEMBER

Remember all those times
that I would shove you
off my bed
so I could sleep?
I thought you’d get mad at me,
but you didn’t.

Remember all those times
that I would leave you
for a whole month?
I thought you’d forget me,
but you didn’t.

Remember all those times
that I would yell at you
for being so noisy
while I was working?
I thought you’d leave me,
but you didn’t.

There was so much
I wanted to make up to you
once you got better.
But you didn’t.
